Description
Byrdcliffe Arts and Crafts Colony framed award tile, signed by artist K. Love, and awarded to Sally Grossman in 2006 to honor her contributions to the arts, architecture, and historic preservation of the Woodstock, New York area. Tile: 6 x 6 in. Oak frame: 10 1/2 x 10 1/2 in.
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
The earthenware tile and oak frame remain in excellent condition. Minor, scattered pinholes and small dark glaze inclusions are present, which are characteristic of the handmade firing process. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the ceramic. The oak frame shows well-preserved wood grain with no significant scuffs or separation at the mitered joints.
