Description
George H. Thompson (British, 1853-1933). Group of eight chromolithographs featuring anthropomorphic bear scenes, in reference to Grossman’s Bearsville, New York estate. Each print is housed in a natural oak frame with navy blue and maroon double mats. Largest frame: 15 1/2 x 14 1/4 inches.
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
General age-related toning to all print paper. Light foxing and localized spotting is present on several of the mats. The oak frames show minor surface scuffs and handling marks. The brown paper dust covers on the reverse show tearing and age-related wear.
