Description
Set of four Jacobean Revival style carved oak side chairs with red damask upholstery. Each chair with carved acanthus leaf finials and front stretchers carved with central grotesque masks and foliate motifs. 44" H x 20" W x 18 1/2" D. Seat height 19 1/2".
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
Visible wear includes scuffing and minor finish loss to the wooden frames. The upholstery remains taut, although there are several visible small dark stains on the seats. One chair is missing a decorative nail head.
