Description
Circle Y Western brown leather horse saddle. The saddle features a dark brown padded seat decorated with intricate scrollwork stitching. The design includes a raised cantle, a leather-wrapped horn, and rounded skirts. The fenders are equipped with stirrup leathers and metal-framed stirrups. Hardware includes silver-plated conchos featuring a starburst pattern, alongside brass-tone screws and rivets. The underside is fitted with a fleece lining. Marked on the fenders and stirrup leathers. 15" H x 26" L x 21" W.
From the Woodstock, New York estate of music manager Albert Grossman, best known for managing artists including Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Condition report:
The leather surface shows significant wear, including heavy scuffing, surface scratches, and widespread discoloration throughout. The fleece lining on the underside is severely worn, with large missing patches and matting that exposes the structural base. Metal hardware exhibits tarnish and oxidation. Leather straps and rigging show signs of drying, stiffness, and cracking at the edges.
