Description
Ten early 1950s newsprint comic books published by Dell. The group includes Tom and Jerry Comics #90, Marge’s Tubby #461 and #6, Walter Lantz New Funnies #168, #175, and #182, Andy Panda #345, Beetle Bailey #469, and Woody Woodpecker #336 and #374. Several issues belong to the Dell Four Color series. These newsprint publications display full-color illustrations throughout and period-correct advertisements, including back cover ads for Wheaties, Voit footballs, and Dell comic subscriptions. Each comic is staple-bound with a full-color cover over newsprint interior pages. Character appearances include Woody Woodpecker, Tom and Jerry, Andy Panda, Oswald the Rabbit, Beetle Bailey, Barney Bear, and Sarge. Marked on the covers Dell.
Condition report:
Low-to-mid grade condition. Tom and Jerry Comics #90 has a significant missing piece at the lower-right corner of the front cover. Walter Lantz New Funnies #175 shows a large irregular tear and missing paper along the right vertical edge. Woody Woodpecker #336 displays a prominent tear and fold at the top right corner. General wear includes spine stress, creasing, edge chipping, corner rounding, and tanning to interior pages. Several covers bear handwritten names and dates in ink and pencil.
